My Two-Cent Opinion On Politics In America

The Democrat Party moves further to the left, yet the die hard conservative Democrats (what I label the old Scoop Jackson types, where my family came from) keep voting for them - even though they don't realize what their party stands for anymore and that the extreme Left has commandeered their party. Many of these conservative Democrats don't realize that in this last election they helped install the most liberal left-wing Congress in U.S. history. Just look at their poll numbers - they're worse than Bush's. Remember when they ran on "we will bring down gas prices?" And, what happened? They went up! What amazes me is that the minorities (election, after election) keep voting for these socialists on the left and have forgotten that it was the Democrats, NOT the Republicans, that voted against the Civil Rights Act in the late 60s.

The Republican Party has lost it's conservative Reagan back bone and message (less government spending and smaller government in particular) and is moving left. Several are jumping ship and have lost their back bone on this War on Terror, and the war in Iraq. Illegal immigration, and lax border controls, are out of control and we have a President, and a Democrat Party majority, that want amnesty for illegal's, full Social Security benefits (for them and their extended family members), and a Guest Worker program that just begs for corruption.

Europe took a socialist approach and moved to the left at the end of WWII. This has, over the past 60+ years, resulted in; an industrial productivity drop due to shortened work weeks and 5-6 weeks of vacation/quality time, a near bankrupt budget due to the high cost of a dysfunctional nationalized healthcare system, and increased labor strife because of a need to import a lot of their labor force (mainly Muslims) due to a low birth rate aided by a high abortion rate. Ironically, they have learned that socialism is not working and they are now slowly moving to the right (but, with a lot of resistance from the government dependent gimme-gimee-gimee socialist types). You would think that we would learn a lesson from them, but no....we are doing the opposite and are moving to the left! Thanks to the left-wing hippies from the 1960s era now running the government and Wall Street. They want to take our freedom, nationalize industries, and head us down a road of serfdom and put an end to our free market system. What they don't realize is that they'll end up with a country run by a select elite, like the old Polit Bureau of the old Soviet Union. If they succeed, welcome to the new Socialist Republic of America.

In short, many of these politicians, on both sides of the isle, are self-serving and have sold out their country for nothing more than political power. Many are corrupt, and addicted to pork barrel spending.

The so-called independents/moderates, are in my opinion, nothing more than fence sitters, who have no core values or principles. They just wet their fingers, stick them up in the air, and go in the direction the wind is blowing.

The mainstream media is agenda driven (they still can't get over that damn 2000 election) and biased left, and operate under the caveat "tell a lie long enough and they will believe it." In addition, the media, and orgs like moveon.org (who is spending $175M to try and buy an election), are operating a covert war against Christianity. I'm not a real religious person, but it is becoming ever more clear to me that the main goal of of the liberal left in this country, especially the Hollywood elite, is to ban God from everything.

Are The Rich Paying Their Fair Share Of Taxes?

Barrack Obama states that he wants to raise the taxes on anyone making $150,000 (top 5% earners) and above, and lower the taxes on anyone making below this. To the individual who makes less than $150,000 a year, this sounds fair. Never mind that this $150,000/YR (5%) group consists of many small business owners that already pay 60% of all income taxes and 162% of their fair share. The LESS THAN $150,000/YR group (95% of taxpayers) that Obama wants to give a tax-cut to, currently earn 63% of all income, and pay 40% of all taxes, which is a fair share of taxes paid of only 63%! This group does NOT need a tax cut, they don't pay their fair share now! Is this fair to the group currently paying 162% of their fair share? In other words, it means cash payments to the 40% or so of households who don't pay income taxes! This is nothing but a socialistic distribution of wealth ploy! Remember, Bill Clinton ran on this same promise (a middle-class tax cut), but never followed through when elected - neither will Obama.

To increase taxes during a period of sluggish economy (or recession) would be a very bad move. These earners, and small business owners, do not put their money under their mattresses, or stash it in accounts offshore. They invest it in their own businesses, and provide the majority of the capital investment in this country. You take away this business expansion and capital investment sources, and you're going to see higher unemployment, less business expansion, fewer new companies, and a deep recession, if not a depression. As JFK, Reagan, and Bush have learned, decreasing taxes puts more money in the Treasury coffers than increasing taxes. In fact, when President Bush lowered taxes, it resulted in an increase of 20% more tax money in the treasury coffers than occurred during the Clinton Administration. Increasing taxes, decreases capital investment and the incentive to work harder (or expand one's business) and reduces the overall amount of taxes paid into the Treasury coffers.

Add Obama's intention to raise Corporate Taxes (we already have the second highest corporate tax rate in the world), raise the *Capital Gains tax (from 15% to 28%), and removing the cap on the amount of income that is subject to Social Security taxes, and all economic expansion in this country will come to a screeching halt! You think the economy is sluggish now! Just wait.

In one of the Democrat debates, ABC news anchor Charlie Gibson asked Obama "don't you realize that increasing the Capital Gains tax would result in less tax money collected and would be bad for the economy?" Obama's answer was "well, it's a matter of fairness." This man is willing to destroy the economy for what he perceives as a matter of fairness??!! If this one statement does not point to this man's total lack of inexperience and lack of any economic policy knowledge, nothing does. Amazing!

Also, keep in mind that the increase in jobs that Obama claims will happen under his presidency, will be primarily government jobs (created by all of his social programs, and so-called green jobs). These type of jobs add nothing to the GDNP and create no wealth. Their wages are paid by us, the taxpayers.

On the Fanny Mae/Freddy Mac/AIG bailout: The Democrats would like you to believe that the credit/mortgage crisis is not their fault, and are attempting to shift the blame to the economic policies of the Bush Administration {which is not lily white either]. Of course, they're counting on the fact that the majority of the public get all of their news from the liberal left-wing media and will not take the time, or have the intelligence to do any actual research on the subject. If you do research the subject, you will find that these lax mortgage/credit rules started under the Carter Administration, and were dramatically expanded under the Clinton Administration - this was done to get more minorities and poor people into their own home. In 2003, the Bush Administration became increasingly concerned about what was happening with Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, and wanted to place caps on them. The Republicans initiated legislation to tighten up the rules and place caps, and it was blocked by the Democrats (thanks to the 60 vote needed to pass requirement initiated by Harry Reid). On twenty different occasions the Republican Congressmen and Senators have tried to insert this legislation, only to have it blocked each time by Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, or Barney Frank. Their reason was "it would prevent the poor from owning a home." Now, we have many of these lower income people sitting in homes that they can't afford [they should never have been able to purchase them in the first place]. Some didn't even have to explain what they did for a living, and many were illegal aliens! Two of the biggest crooks (Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson), who were CEO's of Fanny Mae, became rich [walked away with over $125 million between them] by cooking the books and running Fanny Mae into the ground. Now these two are advisors to Barrack Obama!!! Also, the number one recipient of campaign donations from Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac is Chris Dodd, and the number two recipient is Barack Obama!!! Barney Frank received more than $40,000 in campaign donations from Fannie since 1989, and was once romantically involved with a Fannie Mae executive! Tell me crime does not pay!!!

This bailout is nothing but financial socialism designed to bailout the fat cats on Wall Street and a bunch of foreign banks. It is nothing more than the nationalization of the credit markets. Many of these Wall Street fat cats are Democrats. Don't believe me? Check it out. I personally believe in the free market system, and believe these companies should be allowed to fail. They would then, like most failed companies, be forced to renegotiate with creditors, and have to reassess the value of their assets. As for the people occupying these homes, if they can't pay the mortgage, they have no right to be in the home! These type of buyers were essentially allowed to finance 120% of the loan amount (home price plus creative financing to get the required 20% down), and did not have the income, or assets, to pay the monthly mortgage payment in the first place. You say I have no sympathy for these poor home owners? Well, like my old pappy used to say "I'll tell you where you can find SYMPATHY in the dictionary....it's between SHIT and SYPHILIS." Furthermore, many of these homeowners are walking away from their homes because they owe more than it's worth, NOT because they can't afford the monthly payment! You don't see that fact represented in the foreclosure statistics!

Add this $700B (probably closer to $1 Trillion) to the $53 Trillion (yes, that is TRILLION!) un funded obligations to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid over the next ten years and you're looking at a drastically reduced standard of living in this country. Wake up America!

Tax Cuts - As Explained By A Democrat

If you don't understand the Democrats' version of tax cuts (and you are not alone), maybe this will help explain it:

50,000 people go to a baseball game, but the game was rained out. A refund was then due.

The team was about to mail refunds when the Congressional Democrats stopped them and suggested that they send out refund amounts based on the Democrat National Committee's interpretation of fairness.

After all, if the refunds were made based on the price each person paid for the tickets, most of the money would go to the ticket holders of the most expensive tickets. That would be unfair and unconscionable.

People in the $10 seats will get back $15, because they have less money to spend. Call it an "Earned Income Ticket Credit." Persons "earn" it by demonstrating little ambition, few skills and poor work habits, thus keeping them at entry-level wages.

People in the $25 seats will get back $25, because that's only fair.

People in the $50 seats will get back $1, because they already make a lot of money and don't need a refund. After all, if they can afford a $50 ticket, then they must not be paying enough taxes.

People in the $75 luxury seats will have to pay another $50, because they have way too much to spend.

The people driving (or walking) by the stadium who couldn't afford to watch the game will get $10 each, even though they didn't pay anything in, because they need the most help (sometimes known as Affirmative Action!).

Can a good Muslim be a good American?

I sent that question to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.

The following is his reply:

Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.

Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Koran, 2:256)

Sculpturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).

Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names.

Therefore after much study and deliberation.... perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans.

Call it what you wish.... it's still the truth.

Dead children. Dead tourists. Dead teachers. Dead doctors and nurses. Death, destruction and mayhem around the world at the hands of Muslims .. no Muslim outrage ... but publish a cartoon depicting Mohammed with a bomb in his turban and all hell breaks loose.

Come on, is this really about cartoons? They're rampaging and burning flags. They're looking for Europeans to kidnap. They're threatening innkeepers and generally raising holy Muslim hell not because of any outrage over a cartoon. They're outraged because it is part of the Islamic jihadist culture to be outraged. You don't really need a reason. You just need an excuse. Wandering around, destroying property, murdering children, firing guns into the air and feigning outrage over the slightest perceived insult is to a jihadist what tailgating is to a Steeler's fan.

I know and understand that these bloodthirsty murderers do not represent the majority of the world's Muslims. When, though, do they become outraged? When do they take to the streets to express their outrage at the radicals who are making their religion the object of worldwide hatred and ridicule? Islamic writer Salman Rushdie wrote of these silent Muslims in a New York Times article three years ago. "As their ancient, deeply civilized culture of love, art and philosophical reflection is hijacked by paranoiacs, racists, liars, male supremacists, tyrants, fanatics and violence junkies, why are they not screaming?"

Steve Forbes Praises 'Do As I Say' Book

Former presidential candidate Steve Forbes has high praise for Peter Schweizer's new book about liberal hypocrisy, calling it "a book that'll make your eyes pop."

Forbes, editor-in-chief of Forbes magazine, writes in his Fact and Comment column about "Do As I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy," saying that "the mainstream media love it when notable conservatives get caught not practicing what they preach concerning public behavior."

But "as this book engagingly documents," liberals "are in many respects even bigger hypocrites than are fallen conservatives."

Forbes cites several examples of blatant liberal hypocrisy exposed by Schweizer, a fellow at the Hoover Institution, including:

Filmmaker Michael Moore claims he doesn't invest in the stock market. In fact, his foundation has bought shares in scores of companies, including Halliburton, which he routinely castigates.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi champions organized labor. But Pelosi and her husband own a vineyard that employs only nonunion workers. And she owns part of a California resort that is also nonunion.

Comedian Al Franken often charges that Republicans are racists, yet his staff is actually whiter than Bob Jones University, a school that Franken labels "racist."

"Environmentalist" Ted Kennedy opposed a "clean energy" wind-power system off Cape Cod - because it was close to his family compound in Hyannis, Mass.

"On and on it goes," Forbes writes. "Strangely (not!), Schweizer's revelations have received scant coverage in most of the media."
